Lightning allows users to update manually or by using the auto-updater.
Download the updated Lightning Files
Export your Lightning Profiles
a. Go to Lightning Full View in Chrome
b. Go to the Payment Tab
c. Hit "Export All" (found across from the "Profile Name" field)
Sign out of Lightning
a. At the bottom of the Payment tab, hit "Log Out"
Go to chrome://extensions/ in Chrome
Hit "Remove" underneath the old version of lightning.

Now you are ready to install Lightning as if it is your first time.
a. Import your Profiles
Refer to our or . Start at step 4.
Download the Updater
a. Use the proper link to download the updater. Download the Windows version if you are on Windows or the Mac version if you are on MacOS.
After downloading the updater, double click on the file folder.
If ON Windows:
a. A prompt regarding "Windows protected your PC" will pop up. Click "More Info" then click "Run Anyway"

If ON MacOS:
a. Open the application by right-clicking then hitting "Open"
b. If that doesn't work, hold ctrl and click on the app, then hit "Open"
After allowing the updater to run, the program should open.
Check you are on the most recent version by hitting "Check for Update".
After hitting check for update, the updater will ensure you are on the most recent version.
Once the updater is finished, you can close the program.
